Director of Institute of Advanced Manufacturing Technology Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering Chinese Academy of Sciences

Brief introduction:

Guilin Yang is deputy director of Ningbo Institute of Industrial Technology (CNITECH), CAS and leader of Ningbo “3315 High-end Innovation Team”. He got his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Jilin University of Technology (now Jilin University) correspondingly in 1985 and 1988. He earned his doctorate degree in School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of Nanyang Technological University in 1998 and later he joined in the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology. He served as associate researcher, researcher, research scientist, deputy director of mechatronics research room, senior scientist, and director of mechatronics research room. Besides, he also worked as Director of Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology-National University of Singapore Precision Motion System Joint Laboratory, and Director of Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology-National University of Singapore Industrial Robot Joint Laboratory, etc. In 2013, Yang was selected as "Flagship Talent" Senior Researcher. He has long undertaken research on mechatronics, robotics and manufacturing automation, focused on innovative design, simulation analysis and control technology of precision motion and robot systems. Additionally, he has taken charge of many key scientific projects and accomplished several research achievements in such fields as precision electromagnetic drives, multi-degree-of-freedom micro-nano manipulating robots, modular robots, parallel robots, rope-driven robots, mobile operating robots, and industrial robots.
